Estimated Pricing

Wondering what Exotic Shorthair Kittens cost? When considering the cost of an Exotic Shorthair kitten, it's essential to understand the range and factors influencing a quality breeding price. Kittens from well-established bloodlines with superior lineage, like ours, often command higher prices. The pedigree includes the history of the kitten's ancestors, indicating show-winning parents or grandparents, which aside from aesthetics add value in health and temperament. Other variables like breeder reputation, health & veterinary care standards, coat colors and pattens, demand and availability are all factors in pricing.

  • On average, our Exotic Shorthair Kittens that are Pet Quality can cost between $2,000 and $2,500.

  • Breeder/Show Quality Kittens (intact with breeding rights) can range from $2,500 to $4,000. No kittens will be sold with breeding rights in Division 4 of the CFA.

It's crucial to note that the term "Show Quality" does not guarantee your cat or kitten will win shows. This designation often refers to meeting specific breed standards and having desirable traits, but success in shows also depends on other factors such as grooming, presentation, and judges' preferences.

Beyond the initial purchase price, owning an Exotic Shorthair involves ongoing costs for food, grooming, veterinary care, and pet insurance, which can add up to a significant investment over the cat's lifetime. We believe the experience is important to budget for long-term expenses to ensure a healthy and happy life for your new feline family member.

FAQs

  • To start, review and fill out our inquiry/questionnaire Click here. After review of your questionnaire I may contact you with any questions. A phone interview will be next, giving us both the opportunity to get to know each other.  After this initial contact, I will place your name on my wait list. When kittens are available, I will reach out to contacts on my wait list. Being on the wait list does not guarantee that a kitten will be placed on your home.

  • Check Facebook, Instagram, and our Website for updates on our social media. Feel free to reach out anytime and check in as often as you like at  Capecodcoastalcats@gmail.com

  • If there is an available kitten offered to you a $500 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a kitten. Once the kitten has been vet checked you will pay for half the cost of the kitten at approximately 8 weeks. The balance is paid when you pick up the kitten at 12 weeks, unless the kitten is being delivered to the airport. Then you will be asked to pay for the kitten 72 hours before the travel date.

  • Kittens are typpically ready at 12 weeks and not a day before. Placing kittens in the perfect home is one of the main goals as well as their health. At 12 weeks kittens will go home with their first 2 vaccines, de-wormed, health certificate and the litter will be registered with the CFA.  If kittens fly out of state, we will deliver kittens personally to the Boston airport or TF Green in Rhode Island for an extra fee. We do not ship cargo for any reason. Kittens will not fly before 12 to 14 weeks. No exceptions.

  • When a kitten is purchased you will be required to sign a contract.

  • If you are local to Massachusetts or Cape Cod you are welcome to come for a visit. Just contact us and we will arrange a visit.  Kittens will usually have had their vaccinations first. If you would like to see kittens before a visit or it is too far to travel to visit we can offer a FaceTime chat with you. This is very common. A lot of families like to see the kittens this way and it’s a great way to get to know each other and ask questions too.

  • Exotic Shorthair (ESH) and Exotic Long Hair (ELH) range from Pet Quality (PET) $2,000-$2,500 and Show Quality (SHOW) $2500 - $3,000.

BREEDING RIGHTS: $3600.00-$4000.00. This is very rare. It is not a common practice of ours to place kittens for breeding.

While we provide guidance on the quality of our kittens, we cannot guarantee any kitten will win at shows. The classification of 'Show Quality' is based on our professional assessment and CFA & TICA standards, but it is ultimately subject to individual show judges' discretion and interpretation
